Registration renewal is the fastest thing we do. Most customers are in and out in a few minutes. Bring your paperwork, we pull your record, you pay the fees, and we hand you the sticker and a printed registration card before you leave. If the DMV shows a hold on the vehicle — unpaid citations, or no smog or insurance on file — we will tell you exactly what it takes to clear it first.
If you have a renewal notice, bring it — it makes the lookup instant. If you lost it, that is fine too. We can find your record with your license plate and VIN.
What to bring
- Your DMV renewal notice, if you received one
- Your most recent registration card
- Any document showing your VIN and license plate number (a REG 156 works)
- Proof of current insurance
- A smog certificate, if your vehicle is due for one
DMV forms
We keep blank copies at the counter — you do not have to print anything.
Not sure you have everything? Text us at 805-710-7219 and we will confirm before you drive over.
Registration Renewal — common questions
Can I renew my registration without the renewal notice?
Yes. We can look your vehicle up with the license plate and VIN, so a missing renewal notice is not a problem.
Do I get my sticker the same day?
Usually, yes — we print and issue your sticker and registration card at the counter, so you do not wait on the mail. The exception is when DMV shows a hold on the vehicle, such as unpaid citations or no smog or insurance on file. If that happens we will tell you exactly what it takes to clear it.
Can you renew a registration that is already expired?
Yes. Late renewals are processed here as well. DMV penalties still apply, but we can pull the exact amount due before you pay.
